Indications
- Facial asymmetry resulting from traumas or benign facial bone tumor
- Congenital or developmental asymmetry of the eyes, cheeks or jaws
Anesthesia

Duration
- 3 - 8 hrs
In / Outpatient

Procedure
- Through remote or hidden incisions, facial soft tissues and /or underlying facial bones are augmented, reduced or repositioned to improve facial symmetry
- In select cases, computer simulations are employed to design and build custom implants
Recovery
- Patients recover in hospital for 1 - 2 days
- Incisions are healed within 2 weeks
- Return to school or work after 4 weeks, but no strenuous activity or contact sports for 8 weeks
- Subtle swelling and numbness in the face may persist for 6 months
Result
- Provides a permanent correction
Risks
- Infection, hematoma, wound or bone healing problems
- Implant failure
- Residual asymmetry or deformity
