Procedure
- Through remote or hidden incisions, the facial bones are mobilized, repositioned and rigidly fixed, to restore normal anatomy
Recovery
- Patients recover in hospital for 2 - 4 days
- Incisions are healed within 2 weeks
- Return to school or work after 6 weeks, but no strenuous activity or contact sports for 12 weeks
- Subtle swelling and numbness in the face may persist for 6 months

- Provides a permanent correction
Risks
- Infection, hematoma, wound healing problems
- Eyelid deformity
- Double vision or other visual disturbance
- Dental injury or malocclusion
- Residual asymmetry or deformity
